St. Patrick’s Day
Saint
Patrick was a Romano-British Christian missionary and bishop of Ireland in the
5th century. He was known as the “Apostle of Ireland,” he is one of
the patron saints of Ireland. The purpose of Saint Patrick’s Day is to
celebrate the Roman Catholic feast of the patron saint of Ireland. Saint Patrick’s
Day is celebrated on March 17th because this was the day that the
patron of Ireland died. At first blue was the color associated with Saint Patrick’s
but it all changed to green in the 17th century when Ireland began
to rise. Fun Fact: Did you know that saint Patrick wasn't even Irish!
