Acupressure

Duties and Responsibilities: Like acupuncture, acupressure involves the stimulation of certain points on the body. Stimulating these points can trigger the release of endorphins, chemicals produced by the body that relieve pain. When endorphins are released, the pain is blocked, and the flow of blood and oxygen to the affected area is increased.

Education: In states that require licensure for massage therapists, aspiring acupressure technicians must undergo formal training. Programs that offer acupressure training may integrate other methods of Chinese healing into their curricula. Topics of study may include anatomy, business, ethics, reflexology, shiatsu, aromatherapy and acupressure bodywork. Students also are likely to participate in supervised clinical practicums.

Reflection: Being an acupressure is an idea or a thought of it becoming my career. This type of work looks interesting to study.
