“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong.”
Abraham Lincoln

I agree with quote because you should be with people that are always true and stand with the truth. With those who you stand with truth will have no desire ever do wrong. And this young folks is the right thing to do.
April Fool’s Day

April Fool’s day is on the first day of April. The purpose of this holiday is to have fun and do practical jokes on each other to fool them. Nobody really knows how April Fool’s originated or where it comes from. There are theories of how this holiday originated some say that it originated in Rome when the Roman Emperor Constantine would have jesters do foolish thing to amuse the Emperor. The pros and cons for April Fool’s day vary, a pro is that everyone can have fun and enjoy this day of pranks, on the other hand there are cons for example some pranks can get out of hand and can get you in trouble.

“Character is higher than intellect”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I really don’t agree with this quote because I don’t think having a good character is higher than having intelligence, yes having a good character is good for the mind and soul but I don’t think having a character is higher than intelligence.

“I trust that my hard work will pay off”
Tyler Haws

This quote by Tyler Haws is great because when you set your mind to something and you put so much hard work and dedication into it you will see that in the long run that all that hard work will eventually pay off tremendously.
Harriet Tubman

Harriet Tubman is a phenomenal woman that helped and showed slaves the way too freedom. Harriet Tubman helped slaves escape the cruel world of being a slave she guided them to their freedom which she called the “underground railroad.” What she called the Underground Railroad helped and changed history forever. She risked her life every time she took each slave to freedom. She was determined to keep the movement going to ensure that every African American was not considered a slave no more. The Underground Railroad lasted 40 years. To this we can call Harriet Tubman a hero for her contributions to freeing slaves.

“True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what’s right.”
Brigham Young

I believe this quote really says something great because true independence and freedom can only come from always doing what’s right and never doing wrong. It sort of like when you get an A on a test that will give you some freedom to maybe go out, but it you cheated on it and got caught all your independence and freedom is taken away from doing the wrong.

Sexist

Sexism is the belief in which one sex usually the male is more superior to the other sex and should dominant most important areas of life. I completely disagree with this I don’t feel that women should be discriminated of their rights just because they are women. I don’t think nor do I believe that what men do is difficult in any way that a women cannot do. It’s absolutely absurd that people deny so many values and rights of women. Sexism is a serious issue in today’s society especially towards women; it isn’t fair that women get treated the way they are just because they are women, not just in the United States but around the world women are sexually harassed, raped, violated and even killed just for standing up for who and what they believe in as women. Sexism should be put to a stop and we should all have equal rights as people that rights shouldn’t be granted nor taken away just because of one’s sex.
St. Patrick’s Day

Saint Patrick was a Romano-British Christian missionary and bishop of Ireland in the 5th century. He was known as the “Apostle of Ireland,” he is one of the patron saints of Ireland. The purpose of Saint Patrick’s Day is to celebrate the Roman Catholic feast of the patron saint of Ireland. Saint Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 17th because this was the day that the patron of Ireland died. At first blue was the color associated with Saint Patrick’s but it all changed to green in the 17th century when Ireland began to rise. Fun Fact: Did you know that saint Patrick wasn't even Irish!

Olivet Middle School

A middle school football team in Olivet, Michigan decided that they were going to not score in the whole game even if they were so close to the touchdown. When the time came where they were at the one yard line that they would let Keith a boy with disabilities score the touchdown. An idea thought up by Parker their quarterback thought that it would be a good idea to make Keith’s day a whole lot better by letting him score in which he did score his first ever touchdown. In that moment they had made Keith the happiest boy on the team. This really taught me that I shouldn’t always think about myself and think about others as well.

“They’re only truly great who are truly good.”
George Chapman

This quote by George Chapman is a really good quote because it shows us that in life the only ones who are absolutely great are the ones who are truly good. Those are truly good are the ones you want to have in your life because they are the ones who are always choosing the right and never think about choosing the wrong.

“MANY THINK THAT THE SHORT TERM GAIN WILL BE WORTH THE LONG TERM PAIN, BUT IT ISN'T.   IN ADDITION, USING STEROIDS IS CHEATING, AND THERE US NOTHING WORSE IN SPORTS THAN A CHEATER. DON’T DO IT.”
George Mitchell
I in all honesty agree with this quote because today professional athletes think that using steroids or any other drug to help them be better is the right way to do thing but it isn't. They go for the easy way out by doing things such as steroids but if they actually worked hard to achieve the best player they can be they wouldn't have to look for drugs to make them better.

“I won’t cheat”
Dale Murphy

I so agree with this quote because nobody should ever cheat and we should all play fair and legally; without the use of drugs etc. Yeah cheating is the easiest way out but it’s not the right way out we should always choose the right instead of choosing the wrong. Also, this quote is self-explanatory cheating is wrong like when we have a test and you know you haven’t studied it may seem right to you to cheat but in reality it isn’t it is just the wrong thing to do, your best option is to do as much as you can and see the outcome of it and you didn’t do so well now you know to study for upcoming test.

Mitch McKee

Mitch is a freshmen wrestler in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His father was diagnosed with an incurable cancer and Mitch thought of a way to for one day make everyone including his dad forget that his dad had cancer. That way was going to be by winning the championship title in his division of wrestling. During the summer he worked and worked lifting weights every morning, even when there was no training day it didn’t stop him from working out. Mitch eventually won his first match and the other, his winning took him all the way to the championship round where he ended up winning for his dad.
